A native of Atlanta, Georgia, holds the rank of Professor of Music at, Oakwood College, Huntsville, Alabama, and has served that department as an instructor, choral director, and Chair. She earned both the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Music Education from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition from The University of Alabama, studying with the late Harry Phillips.
 
Her works are cited in “A Bibliography of Available Scores.”. Music by Black Women Composers CBRM Monographs, No. 5. 1995 by Helen Walker-Hill. Performance of her works include Alabama Public Television, the Southern Chapter College Music Society Conference, Women Composers Symposiums, the Presidential Inauguration at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), the UAH Composers Forum, Atlanta-Clark University, Fayetteville State University and choral concerts in many parts of the United States.
 
Her vocal works are also featured in the doctoral dissertation of Dr. Angelique Clay, University of Kentucky, 2006: INCORPORATING THE TRADITIONS OF THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMPOSER WITHIN THE CONFINES OF A WESTERN EUROPEAN-AMERICAN STRUCTURE: SELECTED SOLO VOCAL WORKS OF EURYDICE OSTERMAN.
 
She has conducted church music workshops and seminars throughout the United States, Europe, South America, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Africa, and is the author of the book, What God Says About Music.
Dr. Osterman has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Turkey during 2006.
 
Dr. Osterman holds membership in several professional organizations and is the recipient of numerous awards-- Outstanding Young Women of America, Zapara Excellence in Teaching Award, Oakwood College Outstanding Teacher Award, Phi Kappa Lambda, the Music City Song Festival, and American Guild of Organists composition competitions, to name a few. She is the former Dean of the Greater Huntsville Chapter American Guild of Organists.
